Learning Reiki

Reiki is a non-invasive, gentle powerful holistic healing practice that positively affects mental, emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing enhancing the body’s natural healing ability.

Learning Reiki offers many benefits through this ancient self-help healing method perfect for relieving stress and providing preventative health care in our modern age.  Reiki is a spiritual practice and healing art, and as we know it today stems from the early 1900’s. Reiki is a Japanese word meaning “Universe Life Energy”, the vital, creative force that flows through everything.  “The true purpose of the Reiki method is to correct the heart-mind, keep the body fit and lead to a happy life using the spiritual capabilities humans are endowed with since birth”.   (Taken from the translation on a monument to Dr Mikao Usui the founder of Usui Reiki at the Seihoji Temple in Tokyo)

The word ‘Reiki’ is used to describe a hands-on healing practice and spiritual energy system. Based on the principle that a balanced energy system leads to a healthy mind, body and spirit.

The aim of Reiki is to promote the body’s natural healing abilities, improve mood, health and wellbeing. A number of research studies demonstrate the positive effects of Reiki in reducing pain, stress, depression and anxiety. The practice of Reiki as a treatment can also have value in assisting to create receptivity to other forms of treatment, where a person’s anxiety might impair treatment effectiveness.

Reiki helps us to come into balance by working on the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual levels which, when anyone of them are out of kilter can tip us off course. It is a valuable preventative health care modality to promote mind/body balance. Reiki provides comfort from pain, creativity when we feel stifled and love when we feel separate, it is ageless wisdom for our modern age to rekindle our spirit and nurture our soul.

In a Reiki 1 class, students learn a spiritual practice for self-healing and healing of family and friends and animals. This level is a personal practice and is not intended to equip students for professional treatment practice.

“It was an absolute joy and privilege to study and experience my first Reiki attunement with Janelle Bray in the serene city of Toowoomba. I was lucky enough to experience this attunement as a one-on-one workshop. This allowed more time for questions, practical hands on experience and of course a deeper bond. I highly recommend Janelle Bray for anyone considering studying and embarking on the wonderful journey of Reiki.

Janelle provided a wonderful and warm learning environment as well as comfy accommodation. Delicious and nutritious home cooked meals were provided with fresh ingredients from Janelle’s beautiful Japanese inspired garden - what a treat! Thank you Janelle”
